Activities during World Alzheimer's Month
September is World Alzheimer’s Month, the global campaign for dementia awareness led by Alzheimer’s Disease International and 85 Alzheimer’s associations worldwide.

Alzheimer Association of Argentina (ALMA) are holding a number of talks and activities throughout the month including a special roundtable and video conference on World Alzheimer's Day, 21 September with leading experts, health workers and others on the Sientific action on Alzheimer's in Argentina.
A national memory walk will follow the conference and is planned for 24 September.
Events in all regions of Australia will be held throughout the month including exhibitions, awareness talks and support services, press and advocacy.
Action on Alzheimers and Dementia is holding a film screening, art show, wine-tasting fundraiser and education sessions for families and caregivers to raise public awareness of dementia during World Alzheimer's Month in September.
AAD president Elizabeth Stewart said,“World Alzheimer’s Day, followed by our annual week of public awareness activities and events, is a way to focus attention on this critical issue and to help raise funds for our charity so we can continue to work for positive change.”

Alzheimer's Association of Brazil (ABRAz) are holding information awareness days, film screenings and more in 5 regions of Brazil.
DY Suharya, ADI Deputy Regional Director of the Asia Pacific Region, marked the first week of World's Alzheimer Month with the support of Board Members from Alzheimer's Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) and Alzheimer's Indonesia (ALZI) in a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) in Brunei.
ADI's programme and Asia Pacific Members initiatives supporting ADI's vision to improve quality life of people with dementia and their caregivers were introduced in efforts to continuously foster knowledge in further promoting awareness; developing dementia friendly communities and encouraging public education. The need for dementia to be integrated into global and national public health programmes alongside other major NCDs was also stressed.
On World Alzheimer Day 21st September, Compassion Alzheimer Bulgaria will organize a dementia conference with the participation of experts from Varna Municipality and the Italian partner organization.

The Alzheimer society of Canada will hold a number of events throughout the month including Walk for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Friends events.
The 21st Annual ‘Coffee Break’ events to support local chapters of the society will be held nationwide starting September 15 and lasting into October.
ADI chair Glenn Rees will be giving a presentation on the importance of Dementia Friendly Communities and the development of a national plan in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Disease China on the 14 September.

The government of will launch the Macau Dementia Policy on 21 September 2016. MADA and Macau Government would like ADI to support the key message in Macau through the coming World Report and your networks. Maybe a photo of official working of the Sevretary can be posted with the message on the World Report and your networks.
The Macau Alzheimer’s Disease association, Hong Kong Alzheimer’s Disease Assocation and Sun Yat-sen University located in Guangzhou will co-hold an academic conference in Guangzhou on 24 September 2016.
Alzheimer Croatia will be holding a series of promotional and educational activities throughout World Alzheimer’s Month, including on the need for dementia friendly communities.
In collaboration with health and other public institutions, activities will be implemented across 12 Croatian towns including support for the Dementia Friendly City project in Zagreb. Other activities include

Deutsche Alzheimer Gesellschaft will hold more than 100 events including conferences, open days for care and support, support services, information and exhibitions from the 1-30 September.
Gibraltar Alzheimer's and Dementia Society will be holsind an annual Awareness Event to mark World Alzheimer's Month on the 17 September, on the theme of 'Remember Me'.
GHA, Elderly Care and Social Services professionals and staff will take part in the conference that aims to engage with the general public, raise awareness and advise how people living with dementia in Gibraltar can access support and services.
Alzheimer Honduras will be holding a memory clinic on World Alzheimer's Day, 21 September to 27 September to mark World Alzheimer's Month in Tegucigalpa.
Alzheimer and Related Disorders Society India (ARDSI) will hold a number of awareness events, care services, TV and Radio, film screening and exhibitions including events to support dementia friendly communities and the launch of a World Alzheimer’s Month Souvenir on World Alzheimer's Day 21 September.

Silver Innings Foundation
Month long awareness events will be held by Silver Innings Foundation in association with ARDSI and various educational institutes, hospitals, NGOs and others from 1 to 30 September 2016. Silver Innings FC Youth Football Team have dedicated the 2016-2017 season to support World Alzheimer's Month in the MDFA Tournament, India.
On 21 September, Silver Innings will hold a Walkathon - Memory walk by Senior citizens and youth with awareness events and talk organised by Silver Innings, Mumbai and others.
Events will be held throughout the month across Indonesia, including symposiums, support events for care-givers and advocacy events. The National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta was turned purple this month to mark World Alzheimer’s Month.

Events will be held in 16 provinces across Iran including workshops on rehabilitation and care of the elderly, support for caregivers and an international day of events on World Alzheimer’s Day, marked by the flying of kites with people living with dementia and their families.
Alzheimer's Association of Israel (EMDA) are holding a conference on World Alzheimer’s Day 21 September on the implementation of a national plan for addressing Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in Israel.
The Minister of Health, CEO of National Insurance Institute of Israel and directors of healthcare organizations and hospitals will participate in the conference.
A second conference will be held on November 9, within the framework of World Alzheimer’s Month in Israel.
Federazione Alzheimer Italia will be holding a number of events to mark World Alzheimer’s Month all over Italy including a conference in Milan on the theme of 'Remember me' on topicsd including the latest medical and scientific research and the development of dementia friendly communities.
Alzheimer's & Dementia Organisation Kenya will be featured in True love and Parents magazines as part of the awareness campaign in September. Alzheimer’s cafes will be held on 3 September and a fashion show in support of dementia awareness will also be on 9 September.
Members of the Alzheimer's & Dementia Organisation Kenya will travel to Oman during the month, as part of the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the country.
More than 30 events will be to mark World Alzheimer’s Month including Alzheimer cafés, film and art exhibitions, benefit concert and Memory walks.
Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society Nepal will launch memory clinics during World Alzheimer’s Month at Grande Hospital 21 September, and KCM hospital 25 Sept. Media events and talks will also be held, including a Memory walk and World Alzheimer’s Day Celebration on 21 September.

Alzheimer's New Zealand are holding a number of events throughout the month including support for the exhibition of a giant light and sensory sculpture 'Affinity' in Aotea Square, by Australian design team amigo and amigo and S1T2.
The sculture consists of giant orbs that will be lit each day of September with the real-life voices and experiences of people living with dementia.
Media events, memory walks and awareness events will mark the month concluding with a launch event of the ADI World Alzheimer Report 2016 on 20 September.
ADI and Rosetti Care will be hosting the regional African conference at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan to mark World Alzheimer’s Day from the 20-22 September 2016.
The conference will feature discussions on the strengthening of Alzheimer associations and care for people with dementia, stigma and awareness in Sub Saharan Africa including discussion of the ADI World Alzheimer Report 2016 on improved care pathways.

Alzheimer's Disease Association Singapore will be holding an exhibition, 'Remember me through my art', to mark World Alzheimer's Month from the 5-27 September.
The association will hold a public awareness carnival in collaboration with a local hospital on the 17 September, followed by awareness events at two hospitals to celebrate World Alzheimer's Day on the 21 September.
Slovak Akzheimer's Society will be holding the 8th international scientific conference 'Senior´s training and nonpharmacological intervention for Alzheimer´s disease' in Bratislava, 20-23 September.
The conference will mark World Alzheimer's Month with topics including understanding Alzheimer's Disease, Non-Pharmacological approaches to care and the importance of training for socia care workers.
Alzheimer's South Africa will be attending the 3rd Regional African Conference in Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen the African repsonse to the dementia crisis, including talks on advocating for a National Plan on Dementia and the unique experience of dementia and stigma in Africa.
The Bessie Makatini Foundation are celebrating World Alzheimer's Month with events in Durban in colaboration with six schools and local churches in Lamontville. Members of the Foundation have been invited to talk about dementia at the remote Welbedacht Mobile Clinic as well as supporting local schools with visits to encourage activities for a Remember Me event on World Alzheimer's Day, 21 September.
Many of the people the Foundation meet have never heard of dementia.
Spanish Confederation of Associations of Families of People with Alzheimer's and other Dementias (CEAFA) held a press conference to mark World Alzheimer's Month 2016 on the 6 September.
The association's theme for World Alzheimer's Month is 'The value of the Caregiver' with an online campaign with the hashtag #conCdeCuidador highlighting the month's activities with a video.

Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation are holding an Alzheimer's run and Memory walks during Septemeber to mark World Alzheimer's Month.
A free Public Lecture, ‘A Good Death’ by Dr. Thashi Chang will be held at the Foundation office on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 6 p.m.
The Alzheimer's Association of Trinidad and Tobago will be presenting a World Alzheimer’s Month Seminar on September 12th 2016 on the them of 'Dementia Awareness: Empowering Family and Caregivers'.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Methodist Church Hall Seaton Street, Basseterre, beginning at 10:00.
The film 'Still Alice' will be shown during an aftrernoon session, starting at 14:00.

To mark World Alzheimer's Month, Taiwan Alzheimer Dementia Association (TADA) will hold a dementia-friendly community exhibition on 23-25 September.
The association will raise awareness of dementia friendly communities, and invite Taipei City Government, borough chief, dementia friendly stores, churches and clinics to join the exhibition.
TADA also provide services of dementia care consultation, cognitive stimulation activities, way-finding strategies and speeches in the exhibition.

The UK society for England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be holding a number of events throughout the month including Memory walks across major towns and cities, culminating with a World Alzheimer’s Month Ball on the 21 September.
Global Dementia Friends Ambassador Carey Mulligan will mark the month on behalf of the UK led initiative, by giving a talk on dementia in Los Angeles on World Alzheimer’s Day.
Alzheimer's Association holds events throughout the year including Walk to end Alzheimer's across the United States.
Alzheimer Venezuela are holding events all throughout September to mark World Alzheimer's Month, including Talks, activities for people living with dementia and their carers and much more.
The association will hold a National Conference on Alzheimer's - a public health emergency on the 30 September 2016 followed by a Memory walk on October 2.
