This is the national dementia plan of Luxembourg.

Report and summary of the plan (in French)

The priorities of the plan include the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of people with dementia.

The various measures of the dementia action plan which are coordinated by the Ministry of Health, include:

  • the implementation of a range of secondary prevention
  • developing a standard diagnositic
  • the establishment of national standards for the medical care of patients with dementia
  • the creation of specific training for staff,

The Ministry of Family and Integration will focus its initial efforts on:

  • Disseminating information about the disease to the general public and providing information to those affected and their families
  • The establishment of a training programme for staff working in services and institutions for the elderly to ensure the best frameworks and support for people throughout their lives with the disease.

To give greater visibility to the actions for those involved and their families, a logo has been created. It will be used jointly by the two departments to draw public attention to projects under the framework of the dementia action plan. The logo is based on the idea of ​​"living well" with the disease, to provide support and solidarity to people with dementia and their families.
