US President shows dementia support

9 August 2011 - President Obama has given a personal message in support of the USA's National Alzheimer's Project Act (NAPA).

Thanks to thousands of Alzheimer's Association advocates, President Obama signed the Act into law on 4 January 2011. This new law requires the federal government to create a National Alzheimer's Plan to combat Alzheimer's disease. Advocates just like you were crucial in the process of moving this legislation into law, and your voices and experiences are essential for its successful implementation.

Individuals are also being invited to submit a message detailing what they feel should be included in the US National Alzheimer's Plan.
