Dates announced for 2012 regional conferences

6 July 2012 - Five regional conferences specialising in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias will take place across the world between September and November this year. The conferences, which will be held in Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, provide an opportunity to establish and strengthen networks and channels of communication with emphasis on region-specific issues, practices and culture.

ADI is pleased to announce that the 1st Africa Regional Conference of Alzheimer's Disease International will take place this year. The conference, hosted in Mauritius, will run from 27 to 28 September. Registration is now open for the 22nd Alzheimer Europe Conference to be held in Vienna, Austria from 4 to 6 October. Under the title Changing perceptions, practice and policy the conference will bring together the latest innovations in support, care and treatment for people with dementia. The city of Santiago in Chile will play host to the VI Congresso Iberoamericano de Alzheimer from 18 to 20 October. Registration for the conference is now open and abstract submissions will be accepted until 13 July. The 15th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of Alzheimer's Disease International will take place in Beijing, China from 26 to 28 October. Abstract submission and online registration is now open for the event will coincide with the 2012 Annual Conference of Alzheimer's Disease Chinese (ADC) and feature a variety of sessions for care professionals, researchers, scientists and many more. Abstract submission is now open for the 1st Middle East and North Africa Regional Conference of Alzheimer's Disease International, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt from 28 to 29 November. Topics covered at the conference will include dementia prevention and risk factors, person centred care and new and future treatments.
