Sharing expertise

Memory Walk in Pakistan

"ADI recognises that our members have limited human and financial resources, so our philosophy is to avoid reinventing the wheel. We do this by encouraging members to share their expertise."

Memory Walk is a successful fundraising concept developed by the Alzheimer's Association (US). Members of the public walk to raise funds for vital local services.

By sharing the USA's expertise ADI has facilitated member associations to develop successful fundraising skills. This know-how enabled Alzheimer's Pakistan to organise their first successful walk in 2003, which resulted in the Minister of Health announcing funding for a day care centre - the first of its kind in the country.
