People with dementia worldwide

There are currently an estimated 18 million people in the world with dementia. This figure is expected to rise dramatically to 34 million by the year 2025. The increase will be greatest in developing countries. The figures in the table below show estimated numbers of people with dementia now, and in 2025, for those countries where we have been able to obtain figures.
