Volunteer for your local Alzheimer association
Alzheimer associations are reliant on volunteers for their help and support. Volunteers are needed to fundraise, help with campaigns, run the office, support people with dementia, support their caregivers, raise awareness, the list is endless.
If you have any free time and are interested in volunteering, why not contact the Alzheimer association in your country and find out how you can help. We have a list of Alzheimer's associations with contact details.
The International Year of Volunteers 2001
In November 1997, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2001 as the International Year of Volunteers. The International Year of Volunteers (IYV) provided a unique opportunity to highlight the achievements of the millions of volunteers worldwide and to encourage more people globally to engage in volunteer activity.
