ADI's World Alzheimer Symbol Competition

Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) needs your help! We are looking for an international symbol that will represent the global unity of individuals and organisations working tirelessly to improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers all over the world.

What will the symbol be used for?

The symbol will be used by ADI and Alzheimer associations around the world to highlight their dedication to the global dementia movement. ADI are looking for a versatile symbol to be used in both print and electronic formats.

Who can enter?

Professional and amateur designers from around the world are encouraged to enter. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. Please see the competition terms and conditions for full details on who is eligible to enter.

What is the prize for winning?

A prize of US$500 will be awarded for the winning symbol.

What is the deadline for entries?

Entries for the competition will be accepted until 21 September 2010. Any entries sent after this deadline will not be accepted.

How will the competition be judged?

Five entries will be shortlisted by a panel of experts from both the dementia and design fields and these entries will then be made available on ADI's website for a public vote, which will run from October 2010 to January 2011.

How do I enter?

If you have a passion for graphic design or simply have a great design idea then please follow these three simple steps:

  1. Carefully read the Terms and Conditions of entry.
  2. Complete the official competition Entry Form.
  3. Send your completed Entry Form and design to info@alz.co.uk

How many designs can I submit?

Entrants may submit up to three designs.

When will I know if my design has been shortlisted?

All entrants will be informed if their design has been shortlisted the week commencing 18 October 2010.

Shortlisted entrants will be informed whether they have won in February 2011 and the winning symbol will be formally announced during ADI's Council meeting in Toronto, Canada in March 2011.
