Melanie Legg

Melanie joined Alzheimer's Disease International as a member of staff in the summer of 2005 and has since learned a great deal about the impact of dementia on the lives of people all over the world. She has been shocked to see the far reaching and indiscriminate nature of the disease and its heartbreaking effect on family and carers.
Melanie is participating in the Ascent for Alzheimer's in a personal capacity, raising money as an individual for Alzheimer's Disease International. Raising funds and building awareness by reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is Melanie's way of trying to make a difference. The last time she went mountain trekking was in Patagonia, Chile in 1999, but she is back in training and is determined to make it to the top!
Melanie is a languages graduate and lives in London. She has spent time living in Chile, Brazil, Guatemala and Spain and loves travelling and meeting people from different countries. To raise money for the Ascent she intends to call on her family and friends for support and contact her local press for publicity.
