Hanne Sørensen

Hanne Sørensen is from Denmark. She is very excited about taking part in the ADI Ascent for Alzheimer's. Hanne is a nurse and has worked in the Memory Clinic in Copenhagen, Denmark for about seven years. The clinic diagnoses and treats patients with memory disorders, many of whom have Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. Hanne takes care of the patients and their carergivers ensuring that they have sufficient information and access to social care. She takes part in the education of caregivers and is also a leader of the nursing staff in the clinic.
Hanne is participating in the Ascent for Alzheimer's in the hope of raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease, and as a tribute to the patients and caregivers she meets in her daily work.
Hanne loves to run and has completed several half marathons. She cycles about 30km every day and often goes to fitness classes. She has no experience of hiking but she is eager to take the challenge and will do her best to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro for all people with dementia. She is sure that her three children will be very proud of their mother.
