Sir Cliff Richard, ADI's Centenary Patron

Celebrating his 48th anniversary in the music business this year, Sir Cliff Richard is indisputably Britain's all-time greatest pop star. With 121 single hits, Cliff Richard has occupied a place in the UK charts for the equivalent of over 20 years!
Highlights of this remarkable career include successful films, musicals, concert tours and television shows. Over 250 million record sales and international concert tours - notably all over Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and in the Far East and South Africa - have brought worldwide acclaim.
Although past his 65th birthday, Cliff's appeal remains as popular as ever, with recent concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall, and at some of Britain's most magnificent stately homes and castles, all proving box office sell-outs. His 2003 album Cliff At Christmas was a Top 10 entry, amassing over half a million unit sales, and his current album Something's Goin' On 'went gold' and has featured three singles to date. Critics acclaimed the album, recorded in Nashville and including Barry Gibb among its producers, as Cliff's best studio work for years.
Cliff's knighthood, bestowed in the 1995 Birthday Honours for his tireless charity work, was the first such to be given to a pop star. His practical support of so many good causes reflects the reality of his deep spiritual and humanitarian commitment.
