Claudia Lai
Claudia Lai is from Hong Kong. She is very excited to be taking part in ADI's Ascent for Alzheimer's as she loves hiking. For the last 10 years, Claudia has volunteered with the Hong Kong Alzheimer's Disease Association, taking up various positions as a board or subcommittee member. The call to join the World Team is therefore an appropriate blend of her hobby and voluntary commitment.
Presently Claudia teaches at the School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her special research interest is in the care of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
It will be a challenge for her to raise US$10,000 for the cause as she has never done anything similar before but is determined to give it her best! Claudia's family and friends were at first unsure what to make of her plan to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. However with more time and information on the purpose of the climb they have become very supportive. Claudia hopes that she will be able to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro and help to call the world's attention to the plight of people and their families suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
