Aniko Sipos

Aniko is the Hungarian member of the Ascent for Alzheimer's 2006 Kilimanjaro expedition. Aniko is 30 years old and married with a 2 year old son. She graduated from Oxford Brookes University International Business School, Budapest, as an economist in 2001.
Aniko has already climbed Kilimanjaro in 2002 and 2005 as a team member of the Face of the Earth Pictures Company. Both climbs were filmed and were shown on Hungarian television.
For Aniko, mountain climbing and filming is a means of spiritual development. She is one of the few female members of the Face of the Earth Pictures team but has come to realise that there are no gender differences on the mountain. Mountain climbing for Aniko is about finding silence, peace and a sense of identity.
Aniko has participated in sports, especially athletics, for as long as she can remember. She started mountain climbing six years ago. Besides Kilimanjaro Aniko has climbed several mountains in the Austrian Alps and climbed Mont Blanc in 2001.
Aniko feels that it is a great honour to be the Hungarian member of the 2006 World Team. She hopes that through the expedition the team can attract the attention of the world to help people with Alzheimer's Disease and their family members. In order to increase awareness further, Aniko will be filming the whole expedition and writing an illustrated diary.
